Awakening Shakti - 6 Day Women's Yoga Retreat

This 6-day yoga women only retreat in tropical northern Queensland (Mission Beach, 2 hours south of Cairns) promises to be joyful and challenging, with early morning starts to salute the sun while it rises from the ocean, various types of asana practices, moving meditation, cleansing breathwork, delicious food, and plenty of time to enjoy the amazing rainforest and beach to swim and relax.

Based on Anneriek's Goddess Sequences, in this retreat you will evolve your awareness, to help you connect to your own beautiful, lustrous, feminine nature. The feminine – Shakti – is the life force behind all evolution and all change. Awakening Shakti has the potential to not only tune you to your own sacred capacities but also help you with the hidden and secret forces at play in your life.

In this retreat you will be able to connect to likeminded souls, enjoy the abundance of nature, embody your yoga practice, deepen your awareness and enhance your happiness and well-being. You will be guided through meditation and yoga (flow and yin) sessions daily to reconnect to your body and mind.  Anneriek creates a trusting and open environment to share and explore your experience.

This intensive retreat is held at the beautiful Sanctuary Yoga Retreat in Queensland, “A haven of tranquility in a setting of breathtaking beauty”. With secluded beaches meeting the Great Barrier Reef, unique accommodation, dedicated yoga space, massage and delicious cuisine, Sanctuary Retreat is the unspoilt paradise. The charter bus to pick up from Cairns airport leaves at around 1-1.30pm Sunday (allows for the Melbourne / Sydney flights to be in). On check out day (Sunday) the bus will leave around 9am to get to the airport by 11ish. Please book your flights accordingly.

Program:

In this retreat you’ll be exploring various concepts of yoga. You will see how you can integrate yoga philosophy principles into your practice and life. You’ll look at subtle energies and mind-body connection. With the pranayama (breathwork) practice, you will explore the balancing effect breath can have. During the meditation practice you will learn to connect to your mind and let go of thoughts, enhancing feelings of enthusiasm, joy and peace.

Anneriek has an ability to teach challenging practices in a light-hearted and joyful way. She’ll be guiding you through:

• Early morning pranayama and (guided) meditation
• Two yoga asana classes per day (flow and yin)
• Theme related activities​

The retreat is suitable for all levels of experience however some yoga experience is recommended. Participants are asked to open their minds to deepen their yoga practice and to explore new aspects of their yoga journey.
